Senescence and the most fundamental components of skin ageing are in the uncontrollable factors of genetics and years of repetitive muscle movement. Also sun exposure, compounded by other lifestyle factors, account for the development of ageism. But are there things we can do to counter the ageing process? There certainly are! Follow on and find out for yourself!
NUTRITION, does it assist in slowing down ageing?
In this my first vlog I discuss nutrition and its part in slowing down the ageing process. What is essential for the skins renewal, skin maintenance and new skin cells being formed. What things to avoid and what other lifestyle factors are important to slow down the ageing process. To view this vlog kindly go to SHOP, the vlog will be displayed.

Alcohol abuse has been directly linked to premature ageing. Alcohol can affect every part of the body and chronic heavy drinking can cause significant damage to the organs. In a study it was found that alcohol causes the body to age on a cellular level, which can increase the risk of age-related diseases like dementia. Also alcohol is hepatotoxic which means it causes direct damage to the cells in the liver.
The liver cells are responsible for detoxifying the body and lack of this can also impact the appearance of the skin, in that the more damaged the liver cells are, the less the liver is able to detox the body, which can result in premature ageing. Alcohol can take a serious toll on a person’s skin in depleting the levels of Vitamin A, which is crucial to the health of the skin. Vitamin A depletion can reduce the levels of collagen,
which result in premature wrinkles as well as loss of elasticity of the skin, and an appearance of fullness of the skin.
Alcohol can also cause dehydration, which contributes to the development of wrinkles and sagging skin. Chronic alcohol consumption can also produce redness and puffiness in the face and can lead to rosacea; which is blotchiness and redness.
Continuous and heavy smoking can lead to early ageing signs. And the ageing signs are compounded by the simultaneous abuse of alcohol. Smoking depletes the presence of Vitamin C in the body. Common symptoms caused by smoking are; thinner hair that greys quickly, baggy skin around the eyes, increased risk of psoriasis (skin condition where skin cells grow too quickly) and premature winkles forming.
How CLEANSING and PROTECTION assists the skin?
In this my second Vlog, I discuss essential cleansing of the skin. The products I use and how I cleanse my skin. I discuss the treatment of hyperpigmentation which is dark spots forming as we age. To view this vlog kindly go to SHOP, the vlog will be displayed.

Inflammation takes its toll on your skin in a variety of ways such as acne, rosacea (blotchiness and redness), sagging skin and wrinkles forming. High levels of inflammation can cause a faster rate of collagen breakdown which accelerates the aging appearance. View the vlog for more information.
Collagen is the main structural protein found in skin, bones, cartilage and the body’s connective tissue. Marine collagen is extracted from the skin and scales of ocean fish. Hydrolyzed marine collagen is marine collagen that has undergone hydrolysis, a unique enzymatic process that reduces the molecule size (collagen peptides) to achieve maximum absorption, bioavailability and effectiveness.
However, the foods we eat as part of our modern diet have a major impact on collagen production. Without a steady supply of antioxidants, free radicals overwhelm our body’s repair process. Foods low in antioxidants are processed foods, those full of added sugar and refined carbohydrates. These cause inflammation within the body. Layers of collagen are thinned and signs of ageing are accentuated. Broccoli, Kale, Spinach, Carrots, Artichokes, Cabbage, Asparagus, Avocados, Beetroot, Radish, Lettuce, Sweet potatoes, Squash, Pumpkin, Swiss Chard and Collard Greens are all rich in antioxidants.
Is beauty way more than skin deep?
In this my fourth vlog I discuss that spending time, energy and money on our outer person will not produce the youthful being and appearance that we desire. A concerted change in our diet and lifestyle and a fulfilled spiritual relationship will benefit us most.
